Lest we forget

lest we forget
those moments,
traces of my memories
proofs from my past
every second a world in itself.
locked inside a brief minute of wonder
which has passed never to come back
i long for that which has passed
i wish for time to rewind
i thirst to re live everything
that which once was.
repeat all my crimes,
re-do all the mistakes
even if it brings me back to the same place
i'd do it all over
but forever in darkness
these moments dwell
for they are the truth
left behind
never to be found
like they don't exist
or ever did
but deep inside we know
we heard that heart beat
we saw those eyes weep
the touch of our skin
which now is all but forgotten.
